About the Author
R.C. Hibbeler earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (with a focus on Structural Engineering) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, followed by a Master’s in Nuclear Engineering. He later received his Ph.D. in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Northwestern University.
Dr. Hibbeler brings a wealth of professional experience, including postdoctoral research in reactor safety and analysis at Argonne National Laboratory. He has also worked in structural and stress analysis with industry giants like Chicago Bridge and Iron, and Sargent & Lundy in Chicago. Throughout his career, he has practiced engineering in various U.S. states including Ohio, New York, and Louisiana.
Currently, Professor Hibbeler teaches both civil and mechanical engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Previously, he has held teaching positions at prestigious institutions such as the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Youngstown State University, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Union College.
